Monmouth Cemetery Rules and Regulations
No Trespassing from one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise.
No animals other than service dogs are allowed.
All full burials (casketed remains) require an outer enclosure, grave liner or vault
Cremated human remains must be buried in a non-wood or cardboard product urn or container. Wood or cardboard urns require an urn vault.
No human remains or cremated human remains may be buried within Monmouth Cemeteries without the supervision or permission of an MCA Sexton or Trustee. Cemetery internment fees still apply.
No scattering of cremains are allowed.
No permanent monument or marker may be erected without the permission and direction of an MCA Sexton or Trustee. Upright monuments, including slants, require cement foundations. All flat markers must be at least four inches thick. IE no “pavers” Right of Interment owners shall be responsible for memorial upkeep, cleaning or repair. MCA reserves the right to remove any monument or memorial deemed unsightly or inappropriate for placement within MCA properties. Lettering or Cenotaphs shall require administration fee.
All floral arrangements or flowers may not be placed on lots until May 1st. Floral pieces and debris shall be picked up and properly discarded by October 15th. No plastic flowers or solar lights will be allowed. All permanent shrubs, bushes or flowers shall be placed only by permission of the MCA. The MCA reserves the right to remove any permanent flowers, shrubs, bushes or other additions to lots that they deem as unsightly or unnecessary without notification or appeal.
Holiday decorations shall be allowed two weeks prior to a holiday and shall be removed two weeks following a holiday.
All cemeteries are closed to vehicular traffic from November 1st to May 1st (depending on weather). Pedestrians are always welcome.
